Question 1

Which dogs are this parade for?

Accepted Answer

The marching group is specifically for well-trained, well-socialized pit bull-type dogs and their handlers. If you have another breed, please email us before assuming your dog can walk in the group.

Question 2

Can I come without a dog?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Walk along dog-free, cheer from the sidewalk, or volunteer at a water and treat station.

Question 3

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

A sturdy 4-6 ft leash (no retractables), a well-fitted harness or martingale, water, poop bags, and shade or a cooling towel if the day is warm.

Question 4

What if it rains?

Accepted Answer

We march in the drizzle. Only lightning or unsafe heat postpones the day, and we announce changes by email and social first.

Question 5

How can I help?

Accepted Answer

Volunteers run route marshaling, water stations, check-in and cleanup — two-hour shifts, orange bandana, snacks included. Email us with the shift you want.
